The funeral of Mark Duggan, 29 dedicated father of 4. Took place today in Wood Green North London.
Mark was shot by police on the 4th August. The full story has yet to be told, as the police have remained unhelpful to say the least.
The family of Mr Duggan, want to know why he was shot in the chest. In other words, why did the police shoot to kill? No shots were fired by Mr Duggan himself, and ballistic tests show that the bullet that Mr Duggan was alleged to of shot, was in fact a police bullet. Meaning Mr Duggan did NOT fire at all. Even though early reports of the event told us that a police officer HAD been shot and had even been taken to hospital!
Mr Duggan was a popular and well liked man in the area of Tottenham. Some locals say police definitely chose the right "target" to instigate what then became the Tottenham riots.
The family were rudely left outside Tottenham police station for 5 hours before the riots started. They asked to speak to a senior police officer, they wanted answers, and rightly so. So why did they not get them at that time? You would think the police would of wanted to show the family of Mr Duggan some respect, after all they did not even inform the family that Mr Duggan had been shot and under what circumstances. May I suggest that if the police had been prompt in communicating with Mr Duggan's family then the riots themselves would not have taken place. (see my earlier blog for what I think of the riots. I think it was all orchestrated. Agent provocateurs were involved as I DO NOT believe the residents of Tottenham would of set alight their own community. Yes looting took place, the youths were set bait and they took it. As we now know the police were told to "Stand down and observe")
Reports of the event in the morning papers 4th August 2011 (The Sun online) told us that MR Duggan had been "shot in the head." How do you get information like that wrong? Mr Duggan was in fact shot twice. Once in the arm and once in the chest. He was travelling in a mini cab. Who was the cab driver? Why has he not come forward?
May I ask those of you that witnessed the event at Tottenham Hale to PLEASE come forward. We ALL need to know the truth about what happened that day. Most of all the family of Mr Duggan. If you are afraid then you need to approach the family themselves with what ever evidence you can bring forward.
A reliable source tells me that today at the funeral, there was a police presence. Riot police were also seen at Alexandra Palace. Now why would the police want to do that?
Well I just hope that the IPCC (Independent Police Complaints Commission) get their act together and give the family of Mark Duggan some honest answers, as they deserve to know the truth, as do we all.
